Mono is an instrumental post-rock group from Tokyo, Japan. They play a dark, moody brand of dynamic guitar-oriented music, and over the years have increasingly expanded their sound with strings and keyboards. The group was formed in 1999 by Takaakira "Taka" Goto (guitar), who recruited Hideki "Yoda" Suematsu (guitar), Tamaki Kunishi (bass), and Yasunori Takada (drums) to play music he was working on. This lineup remained stable until 2017, when Takada left, to be replaced by Dahm Majuri Cipolla.
