Profile
Osanna is an Italian psychedelic / progressive rock band. The group originated in the Vomero neighborhood of Naples with Lino Vairetti (voice), Danilo Rustici (guitar), Massimo Guarino (drums), Lello Brandi (bass), from the first line-up of the band Città Frontale, and Elio D'Anna (flute and sax), former member of the Showmen. Osanna was among the first bands in the world to present themselves theatrically in their shows, featuring costumes and made-up faces. The band lasted until 1974, when a series of changes led to a break-up that lasted until 1977, at which point a new version of the band convened for one more album. After that experience proved unsatisfying and unsuccessful, the band split up again. In the 90s, some of the original members got together for reunion concerts, and the revitalized group eventually began recording as well.
