Profile
Anthony Phillips (born 23 December 1951) is an English musician and composer who first came to attention as the original guitarist for Genesis. After that group's second album, Trespass, he left to pursue a solo career, though he has continued to work in various capacities with some of his former bandmates. His releases have ranged from song-oriented albums like The Geese and the Ghost and Wise after the Event to experimental instrumental projects like 1984, though he is perhaps best known for his long-running Private Parts and Pieces series of acoustic albums, which have been recorded solo or with limited collaborators.
